Many of the band’s lyrics are derived from the works of nineteenth- and twentieth-century Ukrainian poets, especially Taras Shevchenko.

Wolves in the Throne Room - Diadem of 12 Stars [2006]

Wolves in the Throne Room is an atmospheric black metal band from Olympia, WA. Early on, the band received critical acclaim from black metal sources due to their extremely deep and textured music as well as epic songs reaching almost 25 minutes in length. October Falls - The Womb Of Primordial Nature [2008]

October Falls was formed in 2001 in Finland and recorded the first demos later at the same year, although that demo was sent only to a few individuals. After the recordings and a small break, new music was composed and the whole material slowly turned from melodic Dark Metal to all acoustic, that later was released as a part of October Falls “Tuoni”. After releasing another album in the vein of “Tuoni”, the style changed to folk based Black Metal with the EP “The Streams of the End”.

Agalloch - The White EP [2008]

Despite their style being firmly grounded in the dark metal genre, Agalloch has always been a band who prefers experimentation over settling on a niche. The result has been three full-lengths and a handful of EPs that have bridged the gap between gothic doom, black metal, neo-folk, post rock, and industrial/ambient soundscapes. The band has earned a rabid cult following over the years due in part to their artistic & independent attitude, elusive aura, and scarce but volatile live performances.
Four years after their critically acclaimed sophomore effort "The Mantle", Agalloch delivers their new album, "Ashes Against The Grain". Always progressing, but never losing touch with their dark metal roots, the band's third album unites elements of black metal, Scandinavian prog, and post-rock with the band's signature brooding style.
Agalloch hails from Portland, Oregon - in the heart of the Pacific Northwest.
